How we are governed
H&F Credit Union is governed by a professionally trained, volunteer Board of Directors, who are elected from the membership at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The board appoints a Credit Union Manager to look after the day-to-day operational management of the organisation.
At the AGM, the members also elect a Credit Commitee, who have overall responsibility for the management of the credit union's lending portfolio, and a Supervisory Committee, who act as the members' watchdog, ensuring that all legislation, rules, policies and procedures are adhered to.
One member, one vote
Credit unions are owned and controlled by their members. Every member has equal say regardless of how much money they have saved in the credit union. This is called the one member, one vote principle. Members also elect the Board members at the Annual General Meeting and any member can put themselves forward for election, so long as they are over 18 years of age.
Come on Board!
A strong credit union needs a diverse, committed group of volunteers. If you would like to help the credit union by joining our voluntary board of directors, please phone 020 7471 2620 or email info@hfcu.co.uk. In particular we are looking for people with experience in financial services and local residents throughout the borough.
